Sports
The Lake County Captains, a Cleveland Indians Class A minor league baseball team, plays at the $37 million Classic Stadium in Eastlake. The state-of-the-art ballpark opened in 2001. The team plays 70 regular season home games annually in the 6,500-seat ballpark. The Captains celebrated their millionth patron June 5, 2005, in just their third season of play.
If it’s pro sports you’re looking for, just a half hour’s drive will take you to downtown Cleveland where the Indians, Browns and Cavaliers play.
Those who’d rather participate than spectate will want to try charter fishing for walleye and perch in Lake Erie and steelhead trout in the Grand River, which often rank tops in fishing magazines.
